A number of estates are releasing library collections of this wine now at 10 years after the vintage, and I was thrilled to be able to taste through the three flagship wines from Vérité. The 2011 growing season was cold, wet, and challenging, yet many of the wines have aged gracefully and have an undeniable Bordeaux-like sense of structure and tannins. These releases from Vérité showed beautifully and not a one was tired or over the hill. These are in the early to mid portion of their drink window and have plenty of life ahead of them.

We’ll have a handful of additional 10-year lookbacks from individual estates coming up, and the good forward plan is to add an annual 10-year retrospective from Napa and the North Coast starting next year.

Thanks for reading and happy hunting!
