I’ve reviewed – and loved – a number of wines from Swiss-born winemaker Jean Hoefliger in the past so was thrilled to be able to look at a handful of his other projects from throughout the world.

Today, Jean is the head winemaker for Alpa Omega in Napa Valley and has worked for numerous top estates in the past including Chateau Lynch-Bages, Newton, Hartford Court, and others. In addition, he consults for a number of projects throughout the world and this small article includes releases from Monteverro in Tuscany and Perinet in Priorat.

This is a great lineup and Hoefliger makes a ripe, sexy style of wine that always has terrific purity of fruit and ripe tannins, as well as a sense of elegance.  If you don’t know who Jean Hoefliger is, now is a good time to find out!
