It’s always an incredible time and an educational experience to sit down with Fran Kysela and taste the latest and greatest from his portfolio.

Fran is originally from Cleveland OH, and he cut his teeth working as the national sales manager for Kermit Lynch for years, followed by a stint at Weygandt-Metzler in Pennsylvania. He received the Master Sommelier award from the British Court of Master Sommeliers in 1989. Fran founded his own company, Kysela Pere et Fils, in 1994 and is still going strong today, with his son Joe now coming on board. The portfolio includes plenty of reference point wines, but it’s incredibly strong in the value section as well, and there are some undeniably delicious whites and reds here that won’t break the bank and are perfect for summer drinking.

All of these wines were tasted in May of 2024.

As always, happy hunting and thanks for reading,

Jeb
