This subset of our latest Up From the Cellar focuses primarily on California yet also includes the latest releases from Domaine Bournet-Lapostolle in Chile. Looking at the releases from California, we have new releases from Ridge and Rombauer, as well as some barrel samples from Cathiard Vineyard, Parady, Bluford, Senses Wines, Mayacamas, and Second Line wines in Napa, and Wrath in the Central Coast. Note, I’ll have an additional stand-alone article on Ridge with even more new releases out soon. The releases from Domaines Bournet-Lapostolle and Clos Apalta merit special attention, as these are absolutely jaw-dropping good wines. I was stunned by the quality of the Clos du Lican, which is unquestionably world-class Syrah.

The older wines are limited to two smoking-good wines: the 2012 Aubert Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard and the 2009 Saxum Bone Rock.
