2016 Chateau Du Mourre Du Tendre Cotes Du Rhone Villages Plan De Dieu Jacques Paumel

This estate makes several Côtes du Rhône. The 2016 Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu Jacques Paumel is a non-destemmed blend of 40% each of Syrah and Grenache, and the final 20% a mix of Mourvèdre and Cinsault. It offers lots of pepper, herbal/underbrush, leather, and dried earth notes and is medium to full-bodied, ripe, and about as classic and traditional as it gets.

This puppy is reminiscent of a Provençal street market, has tons of character, and is ideal for drinking over the coming 2-4 years.

Not yet bottled, it has a huge nose of the essence of black cherries, blackberries, graphite, peppery garrigue, and crushed rocks. This thick, rich, powerful beauty has a stacked mid-palate, good acidity, and ample tannin, and is going to age beautifully.
