2018 Flowers Vineyards & Winery Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast

Moving to the reds, the appellation 2018 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast was just about completely destemmed (2% stems) and spent 10 months in 18% new French oak. Lots of spice box, earthy forest floor, cherries, and redcurrant notes define the bouquet, and it's medium-bodied and balanced, with good acidity and a great finish. As with everything from this estate, it's impeccably made and high-quality. Drink it over the coming 5-7 years.

2018 Flowers Vineyards & Winery Chardonnay Camp Meeting Ridge

Coming from the Fort Ross-Seaview appellation, the 2018 Chardonnay Camp Meeting Ridge is more mineral-laced, with a touch of marine-like iodine in its orchard and citrus fruits. Nicely textured and medium to full-bodied, with bright acidity, it's going to benefit from a year (or two) in bottle and should keep for a solid 7-8 years or more.

2017 Flowers Vineyards & Winery Pinot Meunier Sea View Ridge Vineyard Block 19

A variety you don't see on its own often, the 2017 Pinot Meunier Sea View Ridge Vineyard Block 19 is 100% Pinot Meunier that was destemmed and spent 14 months in 25% new French oak. It's slightly darker hued compared to the Pinot Noir and has a bright, peppery bouquet of ripe red fruits, sappy herbs, spice, and flowers. This carries to a vibrant, pure, beautifully balanced red with nicely integrated acidity, no hard edges, and an almost Old World-like texture and style. It’s a joy to drink, and while it's good today, I wouldn't be surprised to see this evolve gracefully for a solid 7-8 years or more.

2017 Flowers Vineyards & Winery Pinot Noir Camp Meeting Ridge

Coming from a vineyard in the Fort Ross-Seaview region of the Sonoma Coast, the 2017 Pinot Noir Camp Meeting Ridge was destemmed and spent 14 months in 28% new French oak. Bright Bing cherry, sappy herbs, violets, and spring flower notes all emerge from the glass, and it's a more focused, linear, edgy Pinot Noir that shows the vintage. It should benefit from short-term cellaring (1-2 years) and keep nicely through 2029.
