2018 Bench Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon

Showing the quality of the vintage, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts a deep purple hue as well as textbook Stags Leap notes of vivid blue fruits, tobacco, spice box, and graphite. This medium to full-bodied effort has lively acidity, a seamless, elegant texture, and light tannins. I suspect it’s going to put on weight over the course of its élevage and, as with most 2018s, drink nicely with just short-term cellaring.

The 2017 Circa 64 offers a perfumed, incredible blue fruit character as well as complex notes of sappy flowers and incense. It’s a vibrant, elegant, medium to full-bodied effort that has light tannins and terrific balance. It should drink beautifully for over a decade.
