2018 Domaine Philippe Et Vincent Jaboulet Crozes-Hermitage Blanc

Made from 100% Marsanne, brought up mostly in tank (20% in oak), the 2018 Crozes-Hermitage Blanc has a vivid gold color as well as a terrific bouquet of tart apple and stone fruits, white flowers, and crushed rocks. It's medium-bodied, with a great mid-palate, and a fresh, crisp finish that carries plenty of richness, and I love its purity. Drink this outstanding wine over the coming 4-6 years.

2017 Domaine Philippe Et Vincent Jaboulet Ermitage Blanc

Deep gold-hued, the 2017 Ermitage Blanc comes from 40-year-old vines and was brought up in 50% new French oak. This rich, powerful Hermitage Blanc boasts loads of brioche, almond, and toasty notes as well as complex garrigue, spice, and orchard fruits. Medium to full-bodied, nicely textured, and concentrated, it has a terrific spine of acidity and should evolve for 10-15 years.

2017 Domaine Philippe Et Vincent Jaboulet Crozes-Hermitage

The 2017 Crozes-Hermitage comes from pebbly soils and was brought up 20% in oak and the rest in tank. It offers a ripe, dense, powerful style as well as more structure than most in the vintages. Lots of blackcurrant and plum fruit characteristics give way to more ground pepper and meaty, earthy notes with time in the glass, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a rich, concentrated mid-palate, and ripe tannins on the finish. Drink this big, chewy Crozes Hermitage any time over the coming decade.

2017 Domaine Philippe Et Vincent Jaboulet Crozes-Hermitage Nouvelere

Similarly deeply colored, the flagship 2017 Crozes-Hermitage Nouvelère offers a more modern yet pure style both aromatically and on the palate. Giving up lots of crème de cassis, toasted spice, graphite, and crushed violets, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, good acidity, and building yet ripe tannins. Not yet bottled, it's a serious, age-worthy Crozes Hermitage that's going to benefit from 3-5 years of bottle age and keep for a decade.

2017 Domaine Philippe Et Vincent Jaboulet Ermitage

A meaty, beefy wine, the 2017 Ermitage comes from more alluvial soils and will spend two years in 50% new French oak. Its deep purple color gives way to a full-bodied, concentrated Hermitage that has loads of cassis and currant fruits as well as spice box, lavender, beef blood, and ground pepper. It's rich, full-bodied, and while it has plenty of flesh and depth, it will require a solid 5-6 years of bottle age.
