While I don’t generally review spirits, I’ve been a huge Bourbon and Whiskey fan for years and am always happy to include reviews when I can. This small report looks primarily at the 2023 releases from Mark Carter’s Old Carter, which I think are some of the finest Bourbon and Rye out there. These new releases might be the finest I’ve tasted from them, and while they’re not cheap, few Whiskeys deliver this level of texture and richness. I’m a huge fan. In addition, there’s also a heavenly, limited-edition Rye from WhistlePig and a Cognac look-alike from Jean-Luc Thunevin.
